Depending on the individual, that may include survivor support, housing and resource navigation, professional referrals, education, employment, entrepreneurship, digital skills, or community connection.
Our goal is not simply to address an immediate challenge, but to help people build greater stability, confidence, and independence.
Limina supports women and individuals affected by gender-based violence, including domestic violence, intimate-partner violence, and other forms of abuse.
We provide culturally responsive guidance, resource navigation, and connections to appropriate legal, mental-health, housing, settlement, and community services. Our approach respects each person’s circumstances, choices, dignity, and right to determine their own path forward.
Safe housing is often essential to rebuilding after violence, displacement, or financial crisis. Limina helps individuals and families facing housing insecurity navigate available resources and identify pathways toward safer and more stable living circumstances.
Expanding access to safe and transitional housing for women and families rebuilding after violence remains an important long-term priority for Limina.
Financial independence can be an important part of long-term safety and stability. Limina supports pathways to employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship through mentorship, practical guidance, skills development, business support, and connections to opportunities.
Limina develops accessible learning opportunities that strengthen practical skills, confidence, and employability. Our growing programming includes digital literacy, AI education, employment readiness, and skills development that can support employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship.
Drawing on years of grassroots experience in refugee sponsorship and settlement support, Limina helps newcomers and refugee families navigate unfamiliar systems, connect with community resources, and identify opportunities for greater stability and participation in Canadian life.
Limina creates inclusive opportunities for women, families, newcomers, entrepreneurs, and community members to connect, learn, exchange knowledge, and support one another. Our community initiatives help reduce isolation while strengthening networks, participation, and belonging.
Limina advocates for the dignity, safety, equality, and meaningful participation of women and girls. We raise awareness of barriers including gender-based violence, displacement, economic inequality, housing insecurity, and restrictions that prevent women from accessing education, employment, and opportunity.
While Limina’s primary work is based in Canada, our long-term vision includes responsible international partnerships that expand education, skills development, economic opportunity, and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable communities.

Limina maintains a strong connection to the Afghan community and is committed to keeping the experiences and rights of Afghan women and girls visible.
Women and girls in Afghanistan continue to face severe restrictions on education, employment, mobility, and participation in public life. As Limina’s capacity grows, we aim to develop responsible partnerships and initiatives that expand access to education, skills development, employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic opportunities.
